It's officially my Taylor Swift year

My birthday "celebrations" started the night before when my friends surprised me with a cake and balloons. I was shocked. Not because they brought the stuff to surprise me with. It was because they were able to coordinate plan and have everyone show up on the same time lol. I love my friends and thank them dearly for all of the efforts (and roasting) that they went through that night. They even got me mango sourpatch kids. If you know, YOU KNOW.

The next day I went to work and my boss and her co-worker surprised me with a Twix bar. I mentioned 2 years ago to her that my favorite candy bar is Twix and somehow she remembered to get one for me. She played it all cool at first, but the moment she handed it to me I had the biggest smile on my face. I seriously don't deserve these people in my life. They went above and beyond my expectations. Later on, I had the opportunity to interview a friend for my upcoming podcast that I want to launch. We had a meaningful conversation and this experience definitely took it to the next level.

Later on, I decided to go the city and have coffee with one of my friends. Actually, I would say they are more like a mentor to me. We talked about what was happening in our hectic lives and giving the space to express that. After such a crazy day, heck a crazy semester, it was relaxing to let everything out and not put my heart, or mind, under enormous pressure. Good way to end the day right? WRONG

I was already in the city and decided to meet up with one of my closest friend who was working near by. We met up and went to a sushi place called Crazy Sushi. I love hanging out with my friends one on one as I can truly get to know how they're doing and what's bothering them in life. We talked about funny stories and quirks, to real issues facing minorities in the current generation. I didn't want a large birthday party with 50+ people invited, half of them I probably wouldn't have known. These minuscule gifts that I experienced throughout the day was more than I could ever ask for. I am blessed beyond belief.
