It feels like the more I try and distance myself from Chicago, the more I end up going. Even though it's the third largest city within the United States, there's a feeling of home in the midst of strangers. Michigan Avenue on black Friday was something that I have never witnessed before. It reminded me of the opening scenes of World War Z, where there is pure mayhem and individuals are scattering in all directions. Of course the fashion scene is ahead of other places within the country, but seeing people losing their human politeness just to snag a "deal" was a sad scene to endure. After we ventured through the city during the morning hours, we returned to the west side where I witnessed my cousin getting married. Few things tough my heart to the core, and this was certainty one of them. To top it all off, I had the opportunity to play Catan with my my cousins while devouring some french silk pie. (French Silk Pie from Baker's Square was, and is, still my favorite pie to ever exist)
