Haunted House? No problem

Haunted House in a former prison? Yeah that's spooky

To be fair, this was my first time going to a haunted house so I arrived with no prior expectations in mind. It was a numerous amounts of jump scares, and with a group of five people with me being in the back, I could see everything coming. However, there was one part where I was nervous and confused to the point where I was actually terrified about what was going to occur next.

We entered an area where neon paint was splattered everywhere as if kids were in control of it. You had to put on 3D glasses in to enter, and for anyone with glasses, it sucks. Our group stumbled upon a miniature ball pit with a slide attached to the entrance of it. In the midst of the smoke and flashing lights, I could make out a figure guarding the entrance of the ball pit. I didn't make much of it at first, but when I got closer the figure grabbed me and told me to go down the slide. I blindly followed orders which ended me up in the ball pit and through a series crawl spaces until we got to a room. This room was only tall enough to sit in and had a circle on the floor which reminded me of those satanic meetings that I always heard about.I could see four of my other friends already in sitting in a circle with a man covered in paint sitting in the front. Turns out I was joining a "cult"

The man told us we were going to play a game. Before we played, he pulled out a series of bones and explained how that was his family. The skull represented his brother, the jaw for his sister, the arm for his mother, and the foot for his father which he all murdered. It was so strange, yet I was into it lol. He then made us cover our eyes with our right hand and slam the floor with our left to create a consistent beat. "Into the darkness we will come" is what he ordered us to repeat endlessly. As we were doing this, he went around to everyone touching their faces to see how scared they would get with their eyes closed. Fun Fact: If someone touches your ear without any prior warning, you will feel weird and get scared. Once we were able to open eyes, we essentially played spin the bottle with the bones. The person who it landed on had to exit the circle through a dark passage way and continue on the way. This guy was the first one gone. I continued with the rest of the maze alone.

I was met with blank stares and confused reactions when I explained what had just occurred to my original group. It seems no one else encountered the same person or ritual in that specific area. It wasn't scary. It was just strange and made me more skeptical than when I entered.

I was more afraid of my exam the next day than this.
